Daimler AG will be presenting a comprehensive range of vehicles for the public service sector at IFAT, the world’s leading trade show for innovations and services from the areas of water, sewage, waste and raw materials management, from 5 to 9 May 2014 in Munich.
Numerous powerful, economical and safe vehicles featuring tailor-made bodies and conversions for public service tasks will be on show to an international spectrum of decision-makers, purchasers and users at stand 331 in hall C4 and on the outdoor exhibition grounds.
Completely new model series with Euro VI, Euro 5b+ and hybrid drive
The Euro VI emissions standard which has been in force since January 2014 is a highly topical issue for waste collection trucks and other public service vehicles. At the trade show the specialists from commercial vehicles manufacturer Daimler will be demonstrating how they have mastered the challenge of Euro VI in close cooperation with bodybuilders.
The spotlight will be on the environment-friendly Euro VI, Euro 5b+ and hybrid drive technologies. Job-matched configurations developed by Daimler in cooperation with bodybuilder partners for collecting and transporting waste, for winter and road maintenance services and for on- and off-road operations will be showcased at the fair. The range of vehicles covers the Antos, Arocs and Atego as well as the Unimog and Econic special trucks and the new Sprinter. Plus the latest generation of Fuso Canter models.
From the lightweight Sprinter through the Unimog to the heavy-duty Arocs
Two Mercedes-Benz Arocs trucks, one Mercedes-Benz Econic, two Mercedes-Benz Unimog vehicles complying with Euro VI and one Mercedes-Benz Sprinter designed to Euro 5b+ standard will be on show at stand 331 in hall C4. A Canter Eco Hybrid will be exhibited at the Fuso stand.
At the Mercedes-Benz stand, Daimler will be demonstrating how ecological awareness combined with power and robustness can enhance public service fleets by spotlighting the new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 516 CDI with crane tipper, the Mercedes-Benz Arocs 2545 L 6×2 with roll-off tipper and the Mercedes-Benz Arocs 2040 4×4 with winter service equipment.
Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks will be presenting a chassis of the low-entry variant Mercedes-Benz Econic 2635 L and the new Mercedes-Benz Unimog models U 218 and U 527. The latter’s appearance will mark its premier as the largest Unimog implement carrier at IFAT 2014. The diverse scope of applications for the two new Euro VI “all-rounders” will be demonstrated by a winter service combination with snow plough and salt spreader and a boom-mowing combination.
The compact yet versatile Fuso Canter Eco Hybrid 7C15 is set to make an impression on trade visitors to the Fuso stand as an environment-friendly and economical hybrid three-way tipper with foliage attachment.
Demo and action on the outdoor grounds
In the outdoor area the spotlight will be on the Euro VI-compliant Mercedes-Benz Atego 1321 and Mercedes-Benz Atego 1323 fitted with road sweepers. The Mercedes-Benz Antos 2543 L 6×2 as a suction and blowing vehicle and the Mercedes-Benz Arocs 2040 4×4 as a chassis.
A three-axle Mercedes-Benz Econic 2630 L and a two-axle Mercedes-Benz Econic 1830 L, both as rear loaders, make their mark in particular by virtue of their ergonomic concepts.

The compact Fuso Canter 6C18 4×4 is all set for the future as a tipper which also lends itself to use as an economical waste collection vehicle.
More than 20 specialised public service vehicles based on Mercedes-Benz and Fuso vehicles will be presented at the “Trucks in Action” site in outdoor area F5 and at the bodybuilder partners’ stands.

Daimler AG will be teaming up with bodybuilders at IFAT 2014 to present numerous industry-specific solutions for all seasons. The exhibited vehicles will demonstrate their suitability for numerous public service tasks thanks to a combination of power, economy, safety and ergonomics in conjunction with various bodies, conversions and items of add-on equipment. In addition to new concepts for waste collection vehicles and road sweepers, a broad range of winter service equipment will also be on show.
